NAELA 2006 Laury Adsit Gelardi UnAward

Posted: Tuesday, December 12, 2006

2006 Laury Adsit Gelardi UnAward The NAELA UnAward was established six years ago by NAELA's Board of Directors as a means of recognizing unique and specific contributions to NAELA and Elder Law. Under the direction of 2005-06 NAELA President, Lawrence Davidow, the NAELA UnAward was renamed the Laury Adsit Gelardi UnAward, honoring Laury for her many years of dedicated service to NAELA and its members as Executive Director. Gregory S. French , CELA, received the 2006 Laury Adsit Gelardi UnAward for his untiring work in developing and completing NAELA's Aspirational Standards for the Practice of Elder Law. Gregory joined NAELA in 1989. He served on the NAELA Board of Directors 1990-1997 and was Treasurer during some of that time. He was elected back onto the board for the 2005-2007 term as a director. In 2003, then president, Bill Browning appointed Gregory as Chair of the Professionalism & Ethics Committee and Stu Zimring made it one of his prime objectives during his presidency. Little did Gregory know what that would entail! He spearheaded a dedicated committee that produced for us the Aspirational Standards with comments and for which we are most grateful.
